The RiCoLa project was represented at the EGU General Assembly 2019 in Vienna, Austria, 7-12 April. Günther Prasicek presented a study on “Automated detection of past river-blocking landslides based on valley geometry“. Daniel Hölbling presented two posters, which showed outcomes of joint research with scientists from New Zealand: 1) Monitoring landslide erosion in dependence on land cover using advanced remote sensing techniques at multiple scales, and 2) Hindcasting the impact of bio-physical erosion mitigation. Further, a study on the evaluation of earthquake-triggered landslide inventories in Nepal was supported by RiCoLa. The EGU was an ideal platform to meet with international experts and to establish new collaborations.
